Where Has the Summer Gone??

Hey Everyone! I have been pretty consistent with my once a month update. There have been a few of you that want an update sooner than that but I think I'm doing pretty good to do it this often! :) Things are going well at the Coy house. In the last month we have been camping, Lindy & I (along with Cheryl's oldest and youngest kids Kaela & Carson) went to Cedar City for 4 days because I worked down there, we also spent the weekend in Fillmore for Audrey's baptism. Dean & I stayed a night in St. George (I had a few work meetings down there) and we had Derek and Garrett (2 of Cheryl's kids) at our house for 4 days. We've enjoyed swimming in Aunt Geri's swimming pool and Lindy had her first visit to the Hogle Zoo.

The one thing that I don't enjoy about the summer is how dang hot it is! I'd be happy if it were 70-75 degrees everyday, at least it would be enjoyable to sit outside. But....despite the heat, we have had some good times outside. We're planning on a camping trip with my friends (and families) over Labor Day weekend up Kanosh canyon, I'm really looking forward to that. Dean's a good sport for letting me drag him camping with people I know - but he doesn't. Thanks honey!

Lindy is talking more and more everyday. She's 21 months old now - hard to believe. It's really fun and we're really enjoying her learning and growing and getting more independent. We bought her a little potty chair so we can get the ball rolling on that. Often times she says potty and I'll put her on it and she sits there for about 3 seconds thinking some magic's going to happen and she stands up and says "done." I just think that all in good time. Before we know it she'll be changing our diapers and we'll wonder where the time has gone. haha

On to other things, we keep getting the "Time for another one" statement from people. I wonder if they realize what goes into "getting another one." I often tell George and Amanda that Dean and I can't just look at each other and get pregnant like they can. With our conflicting work schedules we're lucky to see each other for an hour a day - TOTAL! Hopefully the Lord will bless us with another child, we really don't want Lindy to be an only child. So if you could, please keep us in your prayers that I'll soon have a bulging belly - ok, maybe I already do but unfortunately I can't use the excuse of having a baby in there yet. LOL

Our families are doing well. Judy (Dean's mom) seems to be hanging in there with her cancer. She has been on chemo over 2 years now and seems to be doing fine with it. We are so lucky that she has the cancer that she has (if she must have it) because it's a slow growing cancer and has been maintained with little to no pain. We count everyday with her as a blessing as we know our time with her will unfortunately be limited. Lindy loves all of her grandparents SO much, and is fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with G & G Coy. They have such a special bond.
