Our Alaskan Cruise

Well Dean and I went on our luxurious Alaskan cruise on May 25-June 1. We had SUCH a great time, just what the doctor ordered for us both. For those of you who don't know, we went with all of Dean's family (Parents and Siblings/Spouses) - the grandkids stayed home. We sailed out of Seattle and really lucked out with the weather, not a drop of rain the entire trip. Our first stop was Ketchikan, Alaska where we did our first excursion. We decided ahead of time that we were going to do one excursion together so we had Judy (my Mother-in-law) choose which one we would do, she chose the Totem Traditions. We learned about and saw Totem Poles representing two different Indian Tribes, it was really fun and allowed us to see some beautiful sites. Our second stop was in Juneau, Alaska - the state capitol of Alaska. Dean and I didn't have an excursion there so we just roamed the town and took in the sites. We decided that of all the stops we made, Juneau was our least favorite. Our third stop was Skagway, Alaska - there Dean and I had an excursion riding on Sled Dogs and visiting a Mushers Camp. It was cool to take the short ride being pulled (on a golf cart sort of a buggy) by 16 Alaskan Huskies. After the ride we were able to hold some baby puppies and listen to a Musher who had completed the Iditarod tell some of his stories. The scenery was amazing, we liked this little town. Our last stop was Victoria, Canada. We LOVED this place!! The town was on the Canadian Coast and had some really cool buildings. We had decided the day before to go on another family excursion to a mansion in Victoria that included a bus tour sort of thing around the city. At that point I think we were all tired of walking around the towns we had stopped at and around the ship that we really enjoyed touring the city by bus. I would have liked to spend more time in Victoria but we were only there from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
We enjoyed the time on the ship too while we were at sea in between ports. We had two formal meals where we got to play dress-up (ha ha), we went to shows on the ship and we just enjoyed some R&R and good times together with the fam. (We even convinced Judy to come out and cut the rug on the dance floor.)
All in all we had a fabulous time and things could not have gone better. We are SO thankful for Cheryl & Shane (and fam) for taking such good care of our precious Lindy. She loves them all so much and had a BLAST in Fillmore. Thank you SO SO much!!!! Now that we have gone on our first cruise we are addicted!!!
